Marriage is a verb not just a noun. So, you must take action to keep your marriage spicy. Here are some tips on how to spice up your marriage long before and into the bedroom:
Schedule date nights regularly. What you spend your time on grows while what you neglect…well dies. Pull out your smart phone, text your partner and schedule consistent time together alone.
Start with small talk. When you first met, you talked about small things (current events, movies, television, your day at work, etc.). That small talk connected you! We all need attention and a listening ear to feel loved.
Talk deeply. Ask your spouse about his/her current ambitions, dreams and desires. Map your way into their heart by tapping into the feelings that matter most.
Share fondness. When you first met, you used to compliment your husband and wife daily. Take this time now to share three appreciations and make them recent. We need to hear why you love us. “Gracious words are a honeycomb, sweet to the soul and healing to the bones (Proverbs 16:24).”
Talk openly about sex. Ask your partner what his/her bridges are to love making. Sex occurs long before the bedroom. Ask your husband or wife how they like to be touched, where, when and how long. Inquire about current turn-on’s and agree to explore fantasies that involve only the two of you to keep your marriage sacred, intimate and spicy.
